the faraway paladin isnt really an isekai tho its more fantasy

It's a story about a guy who died and reincarnated into another world. That's a very definition of Isekai no matter how you interpret it.

Yeah, but some anime are isekai in name only, just throwing one or two references to the old world in the first episode, then never mentioning it again.

Another one comes to mind, though I can't quite remember the name of it, and my favorites list is borked.

It's about a guy who reincarnates as the... 3rd? 4th? 5th? (can't remember) son of a minor noble family, gains magic power, and raises his station in life.

Jealous brothers, jealous nobles, the usual tropes, and the isekai factor is never mentioned again.

Pretty sure some of these shows or creators slap a couple of gratuitous isekai flags on an already complete story, just to reach more viewers/readers.
